Colt Sheath Cutlery 1969-74: Sheffield & Olsen

In this collection, by Sheffield: The Wilderness Line:

(Colt branded all these knives from the maker.  Colt did not make them.)

As few as 24 of a prototype Sheffield knife were made with a 6 1/2 in. blade, black or brown handle.

U1020 'Mountaineer' with a 6 in. blade, 

brown handle and brass lanyard pommel

 Prototype 'Trailblazer' with the  6 1/2 in. blade, black handle and chrome lanyard pommel

The guard is forged into the blade

U1040 'Trapper' with a 3 1/2 in. blade and brown handle

The guard is not part of the forged blade

U 1021 Black 'Bish' design

General Camping knife with fixed 6 in. blade

Comparison with two other Sheffield knives which have lanyard pommels,

the Bish design does not have the pommel

The guard is NOT forged into the blade nor is there a lanyard pommel

Etched Colt Logo with 'Sheffield/England', and no Rampant Colt Logo on this blade
