M16 Service and Care booklet 1967

Published by the Department of the Army under General Westmoreland

...Because you bet your life on it!!

This booklet was produced by the Department of the U.S. Army under the direction of General Westmoreland.  Young soldiers were dying in Vietnam because the Colt M16 was not operating correctly in the field due to poor service and maintenance by young inexperienced soldiers.  This 'comic book' effort was made to teach the 'kids' how to take care of their weapon and survive.
