Caliber: .38 Special/.357 Magnum Action Type: Single and Double Action Revolver With Swing Out Cylinder Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “PYTHON .357 / .357 MAGNUM CTG”. The right side of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A. The flat under the crane and the crane are marked “K37896”. The left side-plate is marked with a “Rampant Colt” logo. The left front of the trigger guard is marked with “VP” in a triangle and at the rear with “Y”. Sights: The rear sight is a square notched adjustable for windage and elevation that is pinned to the top strap of the frame. The front sight is a serrated ramp pinned to the top of the rib. The top of the barrel rib and the top strap have a matte black finish to reduce glare. Grips: PACHMAYR PRESENTATION CI-L-BLK FOR COLT "I" FRAME The Styrofoam insert in the box is missing. The Python manual is original, dated 1979. All of the box label data is consistent with this revolver as to model and serial number. Purchased from original 1981 owner in 2021. No modifications. |
Marked “”M8-2X EXTENDED E.R” at the objective and with patent
dates and “Made In U.S.A.” at the eyepiece.
The scope has a bronze medallion on the left side
marked “Colt / Leupold” and with the Rampant Colt logo.
