Mil Dot representation
|
A “MIL” relates to the U.S. Military variation of a unit of angle known as a mill radian. The distance between the centers of any two adjacent dots on a MIL-Dot reticle scope equals 1 Mil, which is about 36" (or 1 yard) @ 1000 yards, or 3.6 inches @ 100 yards. |

The image immediately above of a "Tactical Elite Rifle Scope" was posted on LooseRounds.com in 2018 and was attributed to being taken 10 years prior, which would put it in the 1997-8 period when Colt Optics, a branding division of Colt Mfg, and C-More were developing scopes together. It is identical to the scope shown above in this collection. Note the 'Colt Optics and C-More Systems logos is called co-branding by the marketing nerds. |
