Above is an RDI-B from the Colt 1998 Catalog showing the

1-5x24 nomenclature on the objective end of the scope.

 

In a letter dated Jan. 14, 2011, from C-More, gave the specifics from the manufacturer on the 1-5x24 RDI-B, but does not specify when the scopes were made, but obviously, from the ad in the 1998 Colt Catalog, it was developed earlier than 1998 for sure.

"These were demo scopes for the military. It was a C-More Systems made by Colt Optical "Optics" (no affiliation with Colt Mfg), 1-5x24 with bullet drop compensator for 5.56 out to 800 yrds and illuminated reticle with 8 different settings of brightness 0 (off) to 7 (brightest) the glass is from Swarovski with anti reflective lenses. Designed for special forces – DELTA, DEVGRU, and SEAL TEAMS, calibrated for .223.

 

This scope has a 30MM Tube and is a True 1-5 X 24, It is Fully Illuminated (RED) with 7 Brightness settings. The anti-reflective properties will show up if using the bright light setting in a dark setting as little uniform specks.

The scope has adjustable eye relief and can be focused for your eye. Complete, with anti reflective Swarovski glass that is excellent in CQB. Scope will range out to 800 Yards, simple adjustment on the top.  Calibrated in .223, with Left and Right adjustments in one click ½ MOA (up to 25 adjustments left or right). "

This C-More 1-5 x 24 version looks nothing like the one in the Colt Catalog.

This is a very versatile scope that allows the user to engage targets CQB style of shooting (0-10 Meters) to engaging targets 300 plus meters away. By switching the scope to one power, utilizing the illuminated ring-dot reticle allows the user to truly engage targets at close distances much like a red dot sight, while still maintaining the advantage of a long distance scope.  This scope sold new for $990.00  It includes scope, mounting hardware, lens protector, manual, box. 

 

Specifics: Illuminated Ring Dot reticle Bullet Drop Compensator (Ballistic CAM) Resettable Windage Utilizes a 3-Volt lithium battery.
