It's always interesting to look at these old print ads and figure out
who Colt was marketing to with the text and images in their ads.
Colt was early to the game of marketing to women and playing psychological games to appeal to the need for 'protection' or 'safety' concerns during hard financial times or war. Some dates are approximate or best guess.
I don't actively collect print ads, but they are interesting referrals to various eras in Colt's and our American history. Here is an interesting Colt Sales book with a look into what is behind these marketing ads:
