Note: The 'Colt Company' name version, Colt pistol logo, and 'Printed in U.S.A.'

are mentioned to help determine approx. dates for pre-1930 material.  Colt

printed multiple runs of all their brochures, so what you see may be a later run

but the design, data, and images remain the same through each printing

unless the Form number changed due to a revision (R).

the NRA Price list

Colt began production of the Camp Perry .22 target pistol in 1926.  The Camp Perry became renowned for its superior accuracy, but never really caught on, despite its reputation for accuracy amongst competition shooters.

Only 2,500 were manufactured over its fifteen year production run (1926-41), with the majority being manufactured during the later years of production (est. 440 between 1938-41).

The 1927 Colt Catalog retail price list shows the Camp Perry price as $40.75 vs, $36.70 to NRA members for a new pistol, not something used or second-hand.  The pistols were new in the box not surplus.
